I value geometry for both its open-endedness and its limits. Geometry lends my work immediate legibility. I build complex paintings out of simple, recognizable forms. I feel that I can use these forms as a sort of language to make structures that are flexible, abstract yet referential, echoing the natural and the constructed. Abstraction is a shifting enterprise—geometry anchors it.
